What are the equivalent models between brands?

Natural rubber and microfiber yoga mats

Yogom, Yuj and Hello Mantra

The Yogom Performance Yoga Mats are the equivalent of the Yuj Yoga Mats and the Bonjour Mantra Yoga Mats: the only difference is in the thickness of the mat because the composition is the same (natural rubber base and microfiber cover). Yoga mats with a thickness of less than 4 mm are, in our opinion, too uncomfortable and are therefore more suitable for use as a back-up mat, for travel, for transport or for use on a mat. That’s why Yogom Performance Yoga Mats have recently seen their thickness evolve from 3 mm to 4 mm because yes it makes a difference and we believe that 4 mm is the ideal thickness to bring you comfort at the level of the joints without making you lose your balance! The Yogamatata Yoga Mat has the same natural rubber base but a different covering because it is made of cork instead of microfiber. It has the same technical specificity, i.e. it is also a yoga mat adapted to dynamic practices because it will absorb perspiration and provide an anti-slip effect, but if you have dry hands you might find it slippery. These are yoga mats for yogis with a good anchor and who need to be able to slide in their transitions. Gentle yoga practitioners will also appreciate this type of yoga mat because the coating is very soft and therefore pleasant to the touch.

Natural rubber and polyurethane yoga mats

Yogom and Liforme

The Yogom Yoga Mat Star has the same composition as the Liforme Yoga Mats (natural rubber base and polyurethane coating). The difference between the Liforme and the Yogom is in the printing system of the design: the Star Yogom yoga mat is laser engraved, while the Liforme is printed. In the long run, printing tends to fade, unlike engraving, which is why we decided to keep an engraving system even if it means cutting back on the color possibilities offered by printing. These are the yoga mats to turn to if your goal is to find an ultra non-slip yoga mat. These mats are comfortable, stable and non-slip.

Yogom and Chin Mudra

Yogom ‘s Yomad Yoga Mats are the equivalent of the EQ Love Yoga Mat and are suitable for beginners or occasional practitioners as well as Chin Mudra’s PVC Yoga Mats. These yoga mats are very comfortable for the joints. There is a big difference between the Yomad yoga mats and the Chin Mudra mats which are made of PVC. Certainly non-toxic PVC but beyond the choice of Yogom to manufacture its Yomad range in thermoplastic elastomer foam (TPE recyclable, not yet recycled in France but potentially recyclable so probably recycled in the future) and not in non-toxic PVC there is a reason related to the technical performance TPE is lightweight while PVC is twice as heavy. TPE is pleasant to the touch while PVC is sticky, and the density of TPE is greater than that of PVC, which makes balancing postures more pleasant with TPE, which does not sink into it. Both materials are made for people with little or no sweat. However, not all TPE yoga mats are created equal. For example, Decathlon’s TPE yoga mats or those of the Yogati brand distributed on Amazon do not have the same quality of TPE at all: they have a much smoother coating and the foam is much less dense than the Yomad range of Yogom.

Differences between French branded carpets and Decathlon?

You may not know it, but these French brands are all women and I think we are all committed to developing clean yoga mats in their design. We do not all have the same convictions but the goal is the same. So the first big difference is to prefer to encourage young French brands than Decathlon which is already doing very well 😉 And then there can be a difference of quality on some products (for example the yoga mats in TPE) and many of the Decathlon yoga mats are in fact sold for yoga and pilates so often in very thick PVC and therefore not adapted for the yoga balance postures.
